Nau mai ki Kimiora – Welcome to Kimiora

Gardening is a therapeutic activity that is proven to reduce anxiety and stress. We use and teach people how to grow sustainable gardens in a manner that not only heals the soul but also strengthens the bonds between family and community.

Grow Kai was created by the Kimiora Trust Registered Charity with the mission of supporting families affected by suicide, sexual and domestic violence. We do this through facilitating strength based kaupapa Maori training to families in need.

“Grow Kai Organic has been an invaluable resource for our school. Their educational programs have helped our students develop a deeper understanding of growing our food and the importance of sustainable food practices. We’ve seen a significant increase in student engagement and interest in gardening and healthy eating.”

“I’ve learned so much from Grow Kai Organic’s programs. Not only have I improved my gardening skills, but I’ve also gained a greater appreciation for traditional Maori and Pasifika food practices. I now share this knowledge with my whanau and gardening’s become sort of how we spend quality time together!”

“Got zero knowledge of gardening but when I found Grow Kai Organic’s website and since it’s free, why not give it a go? The tips and advice are easy to follow, still can’t believe I’ve already started growing my kai. Such a proud moment”
